Overview

Couchparty AI (“Couchparty,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an entertainment app operated by Nodogames, LLC. It lets you choose shows and fictional AI companions, then join an AI-generated conversation about what you are watching.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Couchparty AI mobile app. It does not apply to third-party services that have their own privacy policies.

Information we process

Information you choose to provide

• Chat content. Messages you type and the conversation context needed to generate the AI companions’ next replies.
• Entertainment preferences. The shows and fictional AI companions you select.

Technical information

When the app connects to Anthropic’s API, Anthropic may receive standard network information such as your IP address and request metadata as part of delivering and securing that service.

How we use information

We process the information described above to:

• Generate context-aware messages from your selected AI companions
• Personalize the conversation around the shows you select
• Operate, troubleshoot, secure, and prevent misuse of the app
• Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms

We do not sell your personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use it to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to provide the app, protect people and the service, or comply with law.

Anthropic

Couchparty uses Anthropic’s Claude API to generate chat messages. Your selected shows, selected AI companions, messages, and relevant chat history are sent to Anthropic for this purpose. Anthropic acts as our AI service provider and processes this information under its commercial terms and privacy practices.

Anthropic states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default. Learn more in Anthropic’s Privacy Center.

Legal, safety, and business reasons

We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate abuse, protect the rights or safety of users and others, or support a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the app. We would require any successor to honor this policy for information covered by it.

Retention and deletion

In the current version of Couchparty, your show selections, AI companion selections, and chat history are held in the app’s active memory. We do not store this content on Couchparty-operated servers. The in-app session is cleared when the app process ends or you reset your selections.

Anthropic states that standard API inputs and outputs are automatically deleted from its systems within 30 days, unless a different arrangement applies or longer retention is required to enforce its usage policies or comply with law. See Anthropic’s retention information for current details.

Because Couchparty currently has no accounts or persistent user profiles, there is no Couchparty account data to delete. You may still contact us about a privacy or deletion request, and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we process. Data sent between the app and the AI service is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Avoid entering sensitive personal information—such as passwords, financial details, health information, or government identifiers—into the chat.

Children’s privacy

Couchparty is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review and address the request.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to appeal a decision about a privacy request or submit a complaint to your local data protection authority.

To exercise a right, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your request, and some rights are subject to legal exceptions. Couchparty does not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right.

International processing

We and our service provider may process information in the United States and other countries. These countries may have data protection laws different from those where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, our practices, or applicable laws change. We will post the updated policy here and revise the effective date above. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice when required.
